Learn How to Create Spreadsheets the EASY Way Step by Step Guidance with Excel

My aim in Part 1 is not just to introduce you to the wonderful world of Excel, but to dispel the myths suggesting Excel is difficult, that’s it’s only for accountants and smart people who number crunch all day. That’s just not true and a really nice avoidance strategy that’s holding you back from a tool that can really deliver huge benefits not just personally but professionally too!
Remember, I didn’t invent Excel. I haven’t got any vested interest or shares in Microsoft – I just want to help you help yourself. I also want to share my knowledge and enthusiasm for something that I’m truly passionate about.
Now, I’m not dull. I’m a super cheerful person just wanting to share my passion. I’ve been an IT trainer for over 20 years and I’ve trained all kinds of great systems and applications. BUT, nothing fires me up more than teaching Excel. It’s so exciting and my students love me for it – they come back time and time again to my courses because they say I make learning Excel fun and, most importantly, EASY!! I teach the way I like to learn – no fuss, no stuff you don’t need and definitely with patience and understanding.
I first starting learning Excel in 1994 and it’s been a love affair ever since. Like all relationships, we’ve had good and bad times. But, the good times far exceed the bad. I say bad, because in the early days Excel could be clumsy, difficult, moody even.
But, in the last few editions, boy has it grown up. Microsoft have continued to improve this marvellous application and I’ve fallen in love all over again.
I’ve written an eBook on Excel Power Pivot which is super advanced Excel for Business Intelligence. Don’t let that scare you, we’re not going to be going into that in this course. BUT, my goal is to get you there, eventually!
This 10 Easy Steps Part 1 eBook/Course is your first step. I plan to publish another 3 eBooks in the series to get you up to speed. In Part 1, I’ll take you gently, by the hand, building up your skillset and confidence to reveal all the things in Excel that you’ll need to know to get you there. Don’t worry too much about what Power Pivot and BI is right now - by the time you’re ready to embark on that journey, and you will, you’ll have a much better understanding of it – promise.
So, what’s coming up and what are you going to learn? Well, baby steps to start with. I’m going to assume you know how to open a file. You’ll then learn how to:
•Create a simple spreadsheet by entering text using AutoComplete
•Learn how to insert extra columns and rows
•Easy data entry with AutoFill
•Create Simple Calculations
•Work with Percentages
•Learn about Cell Addressing
•Insert, correct, organise data with Flash Fill
•Progress from working in lists to working with Tables
•Have fun creating Charts
•Finish off with preparing to Print
By the time you’ve completed Excel Beginners in 10 Easy Steps, Part 1, you’ll be confident and kicking yourself you didn’t do this years ago. But, with my guidance maybe that’s not such a bad thing. My students always want to book the next courses immediately but I often advise them to hold back, take a little time to absorb and practice what they’ve learned and achieved. Better to be super confident and build up a list of questions that will come with experience. Your confidence will grow and you’ll soon start thinking outside the box and pushing the boundaries.
It’s easy when you’re shown the right way and a whole lot of fun too!
